But money cannot buy health. Rich people are not exempt from diseases, and even the richest die of terminal cancers which their money has no power to reverse. It is for man’s good to finally come into realization of how futile and worthless wealth can be in a life bereft of good health, and therefore very mandatory that he strives to acquire good health.

Good nutrition is one among the eight secrets of good health. Food is the most basic need of man to live. But it is not only the eating and gulping of food you like – it must be nutritionally balanced to be truly beneficial for the body.

But the human body can produce its own vitamin B12 when it has enough supply of cobalt which is available in plants or herbs such as Nova Scotia dulse, and Norwegian kelp (types of seaweeds). Vitamin B12 or cobalamin is also partially found in food rich in vitamin B1 or thiamine such as nuts, seeds, beans, brown rice, whole-grain cereals, oats, and leafy vegetables.

Flesh meats of animals, on the other hand, are very harmful to health. Meats of diseased animals are carriers of communicable diseases which are easily transferred to human beings. Most animals today are feed with growth hormones, feed additives, and their meats are loaded with preservatives, food colors, and other toxic chemicals that are dangerous to the body. Healthy animals are butchered in dirty slaughter houses, and bacteria and other pathogens thrive on these meats, and are already putrefying and decayed before it reach the consumers. Eating of flesh meats had long been suspected as the cause of tumors and cancers. Only in this modern time have it been verified and confirmed by medical doctors as true.

Dangers of MSG

Most people are not aware of the dangers of MSG. Monosodium glutamate or MSG is a toxic substance that is used as an enhancer in almost all processed foods. It was first discovered in  1908 by Kikunae Ikeda of Tokyo Imperial University. He isolated this flavor from seaweed broth and called it monosodium glutamate. Ikeda patented MSG in 1909 through the help of Ajinomoto Corporation of Japan, and from then on, it became the most popular food flavor in the name of Ajinomoto.

Monosodium glutamate is an excitotoxin like aspartame, and caffein. Like all excitotoxins, it is very dangerous to the body especially the brain and the nervous system. It causes brain tumors, brain cancers, and many more different disease.

Some of the consumers are now aware of the harmful effects of monosodium glutamate, and because of this, the manufacturers of MSG are hiding its name in euphemised names such as hydrolyzed protein, textured protein, yeast extract, sodium caseinate, glutamate, calcium caseinate, yeast nutrient, yeast food,  autolyzed yeast, hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) , hydrolyzed plant protein (HPP), and others.

Hydrolyzed protein is made from rotten vegetables. This decaying vegetables are boiled in a vat of acids. After the acid bath, the veggie-acid slurry is then neutralized with caustic soda. The proteins then coagulate into a brown sludge, solidifies as a sludge mat on the surface of the vat. This brown sludge is dried up and powdered and sold as hydrolyzed protein.

MSG disrupts the endocrine relationship between the meta-thermoregulatory modulators like neuropeptide Y (NPY) and leptin and their target tissue, reducing the thermogenicity of brown fat while suppressing the food intake (hypophagia). This means that MSG will make you to gain weight even when you decrease your caloric intake.

Glutamic acid is one of the amino acids that are the building blocks of protein occurring naturally in tomatoes, milk and mushrooms. This natural glutamate in plants and animals is called L-glutamic acid. Nomal digestive process breaks this natural or “bound” glutamic acid, and then delivered to glutamate receptors in our body and brain. Broken this way, it is harmless, but when it is processed (autolyzed, hydrolyzed, modified or fermented with strong chemicals, bacteria or enzyme, it becomes “free” , modified and harmful. MSG is 78.2% glutamate, 12.2% sodium, and 9.6% water. This ‘”free” glutamic acid contains d-glutamic acid, L-glutamic acid,  pyroglutamic acid, and other contaminants which are not found in natural glutamic acids in plants and animals.

In the beginning, God gave man his original diet: fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables. Man was originally designed as a herbivore. As such, the structure of his mouth, teeth, jaw, and intestines, are distinctly very different from carnivores. He has small mouth opening, and he has sharp cutting incisors with flat or nodular surfaced molars for crushing and grinding food. His jaw has  three distinct motions – up and down; sideways; forward or backward, but in a limited degree. Also man’s large intrestines runs through the abdominal cavity like an inverted U, and consists of ascending, transverse,  and descending colons.

After the Flood, plants and all the vegetation were all totally destroyed, and man was allowed to eat the flesh meats of clean animals which were brought in the Ark. From then on, man started to eat flesh meats, and all forms of diseases followed. His life span became shorter –  from over a hundred years to 70 years old.

During those ancient days, the animals were clean, and grazed on clean grasses, as vegetation started to grow back. Nowaday, animals are injected with growth hormones that are harmful to the body. And their feeds are mixed with dried pulverized carcases, additives, and other toxic chemicals. These animals are butchered in dirty slaughter houses – where animal fecal wastes mingle with their flesh meats. Also some of these animals are sick with communicable diseases that are transferred to the consumers, such as flu, pneumonia, tuberculosis, mad cow disease, foot and mouth disease, bird’s flu, Ebola Reston virus, and others.  Even the flesh meats of healthy animals, besides the chemicals from feed, and other additives, are flooded with insulin which they secrete in reaction to fear when butchered.

In the 17th century, Mrs. Ellen G. White, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote a warning concerning flesh meat eating. She predicted that flesh meat eating will be the cause of tumors, and cancer. It is only now in the 21st century that doctors confirmed her prediction as true.

Flesh meats contain a stress hormone called 17-hydroxycorticosteroid which stimulates the pituitary gland, and cause man to be more animalistic, and less rational. During cooking, some chemical substances are produced in meats, such as benzopyrene, and methylcholanthrene. Benzopyrene can cause stomach tumors, and leukemia. It is so toxic that in a one kilo of charcoal-broiled steak, there is as much benzopyrene as in 600 cigarettes. Methylcholanthrene is a cacinogenic  sustance formed when the fat of meats are superheated.

Besides, the toxic chemical substances in meats, there is also greater risk of having heart diseases, heart attacks,  strokes, and cardiovascular diseases that are closely related with flesh meat eating. Animal flesh meats are high in cholesterol that clogs the vein and arteries resulting to heart attacks and strokes.

Organic is the trend in vegetarianism nowadays. Vegetables sold in markets are not safe anymore. Commercially grown vegetables are sprayed with pesticides, and boosted with fertilizers that areloaded with chemicals harmful to health. And to preserve these vegetables fresh, they are sprayed with formalin.

A safe alternative is to grow your own vegetable at your backyards.When your backyards have limited spaces or no soil, you can plant them in flower pots or in plastic bags. Buy flower pots or plastic bags big enough to accomodate your plants when they grow. Among the vegetables that thrive well on pots are tomatoes, eggplants, raddish, pechay, okra, and bell pepper. You can also plant lemon grass, sweet potato, and lemon.

Use sandy, loam soil. Do not use soil mixed with clay – it becomes sticky when you water the plant, and eventually becomes hard, preventing the water to go down and to be absorbed by the plant. Cover the soil with rice husks to prevent it from drying.This will prevent excessive water evaporation, and maintain the soil moisture.

Before transferring the seedling, or the young plant, be sure to prepare the soil in the flower pot or plastic bag well. Put enough loam soil up to the level will prevent draining out or erosion when you water the plant. Put fertilizer around  the plant, especially the bottom part. Put more soil and fertilizer at the bottom for the roots to really absorb the nutrients. Then plant the seedling or young plant on the pot. Be sure that the roots are not damaged or cut, and the soil are not pressed hard around the plant.

Use home-made organic fertilizer. Make a compost pit. Put grasses and leaves in it, and let them decompose until ready for use. You can buy an organic fertilizer at the store. There are one or two varieties of organic fertilizer available in the market; choose those made by vermiworms. It is really organic and very good for the plants. If you can afford, you can make your own organic fertilizer from vermiworms. Look for stores that sell vermiworms. It is a little bit expensive, but it is a good investment. Cover these worms with dried grasses, and after a time you will have a pure organic fertilizer.

Be sure to put fertilizer in your plants from time to time, either once a month, or once every two months. It depends on the plants – how big it is, what kind of plant it is, how fast it absorbs the fertilizer, and of course, how much fertilizer is eroded with the soil when watering the plants. Do not forget to put rice husks as toppings over the top soil. This will prevent excessive water evaporation, and will maintain water moisture around the plant.

Do not forget to water your plants. Water them in the morning and in late afternoon before the sun sets. Like us, they need water to grow. When the soil are left dry for a certain period, the plant withers and die. So water your plants regularly.

Do not just water your plants – check them also for insects. Insects eat up the leaves of plants, and kill the plants eventually. Check for caterpillars and snails too. They also eat the leaves of plants. Caterpillars are hard to find. They crawl behind the leaves, and can mimic the color of the leaves. And the snails too. You cannot see them crawling on the leaves – you will only see leaves eaten up.

Check your plants for aphids too. Never use toxic chemical spray to control them. Put a little petrol in water-soap mixture, ansd spray on plant leaves to remove aphids.
