Bathroom Remodeling At Home
Last February, we had a bathroom remodeling at home. The kids decided to spend their earnings to buy the materials and to shoulder the cost of labor. They spent quite a sum of money, but everybody is happy with the result.
Before starting a bathroom remodeling, be sure that you have a working plan. The primary objective should not be for the aesthetics alone but for its functionality as well. Everything must be ergonomically positioned to give maximum comfort and ease of movement.
The colors of the wall and floor tiles should be carefully selected to have the best balanced contrast and to match with the colors of your toilet bowl, baths, wash basin, shower enclosure, bathroom furniture, bidets, and other bathroom accessories. Install anti-slip floor tiles to avoid sliding, and be sure to lay them in a slight inclination for the water to properly drain down. Choose thicker, durable, high-quality brand tiles for the floor to withstand rough and heavy usage.
To minimize water consumption, we change our traditional toilet bowl with a bowl and tank in one piece. It has a flusher that is leak-proof and maintenance free. We had problems with the traditional toilet bowls — the flusher usually leaks once the minerals in water calcify and obstruct the proper closure of the rubber gasket of the valve. The modern toilet bowl comes with two flush buttons: one is used exclusively when urinating only to minimize water consumption, and the other for the normal flushing.
Do not forget to install toilet bidets in your bathrooms or comfort rooms. It’s not so expensive, and it makes your toilet cleaner and more hygienic. Water tubs and wet floors are eye sores that not only destroy the beauty of our bathrooms, but can also easily spread germs in the home. So, let us avoid using them and have bidets instead. It is cleaner and safer too.
