Man Is Very Important To God

Man is very important to God. On the sixth day of Creation, God created man in His own image. Man is God’s masterpiece of Creation.

God created everything in this universe for the well being of man. The psalmist who realized this profound truth wrote with awe and wonder: “What is man that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4).

Man was created a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:5), and made him to have dominion over the works of God’s hands, and put all things under his feet (Psalm 8:6).

Oh, what a great privilege for man to be so pampered by God! What is man indeed that God would be so mindful of him?

God was so delighted when He created man from the dust of the ground. He gave life to man by breathing His very own breath into man’s nostrils, and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

Oh, what a wonderful and inspiring fact! The very breath of the  LORD God Almighty is in man’s nostrils! It is inherent in every man, and no diseases can ever thrive in him if he can fully realize and understand this awesome truth!

God spoke these things into  existence: the light, the firmament, the dry land and the sea, the grass, herbs and trees, the sun, moon, and stars. He created the fish of the waters, the fowls of the air, and all living creatures of the Earth. God created all these things, and prepared all these before creating man. All provisions for comfortable existence were made ready for man before he was created by God. What a loving providential God!

God created the universe and all the things in it for man’s well being. You may not believe this, but astrobiologists discovered 154 finely-tuned parameters in the whole universe that  show God’s tender love for man.  This wonderful phenomenon called anthropic coincidence or principle  is the coherent interrelationship and delicate fine-tuning of all things in this universe. These are parameters of a planet such as the Earth in relation to its moons, stars and galaxies whose values fall within narrowly defined ranges that make physical existence of man possible.

Let us talk about one of these amazing anthropic coincidences: the delicate complex composition of air. The air we breathe is precisely composed of 78.084% nitrogen, 20.9476% oxygen, 0.934% argon, 0.0314% carbon dioxide, 0.001818% neon, 0.0002% methane, 0.000524% helium, 0.000114% krypton, 0.00005% hydrogen, and 0.0000087% xenon. What a very delicate composition! Any alteration in only a few parts per million is fatal! What is the wisdom that keeps this extremely delicate composition intact all days throughout the ages?

The above delicate composition of the air that we breathe is just one of the many anthropic coincidences or principles in the universe that not only show God’s amazing love for man, but also prove that this Universe was created by a Master Designer, God. Another example of these anthropic coincidences is the distance of our planet from the sun. Had the distance of the Earth from the Sun been lesser than 93 million miles, all life on Earth would have been scorched to death, and if greater, the Earth would have  been frozen and lifeless.

There are many more anthropic coincidences that show God’s love for man.  The Earth’s magnetic field, oxygen and nitrogen quantities in the atmosphere, the delicate oxygen to nitrogen ratio, the levels  in the atmosphere of carbon dioxide, water vapor, the ozone,  plus a hundred more interrelated anthropic coincidences that link the planets, stars, galaxies and all forms of life in the whole universe are among the many anthropic coincidences or principles that clearly declare the importance of man to God.

Sometimes I wonder and ask these questions: What if our solar system is located at the outer edge of the spiral arm of the Milky Way  galaxy – where shall we be catapulted in the universe? Or if our solar system is  located near the center of our galaxy, shall it escape the tremendous gravitational pull  of a black hole  as it plunges towards its  “Schwarzschild radius”? How dreadful it is to be engulfed in this Whirlpool of No Return! All communications are  totally cut  off from the universe once inside the black hole’s “event horizon”, and final death occurs at its  “singularity” point where all fundamental particles are stripped to vanish completely.

These are possible disasters so fearful that we do not dare to imagine them in our minds. Thanks be to God – He put  everything in order, and designed the whole universe for the well being of man. Truly God loves man very much for he is His masterpiece of Creation, and he is indeed very important to Him.

What a loving Creator who made all things in this universe for the well being of man! What a humble God who condescends to the level of the lowly mortal such as man! What man will not love Him in return?

Rock Music Is Harmful

Rock music is harmful. It destroys not only the spirituality of man but the physical body as well. It is the cause of half a million teenage suicides in the world -  that is nearly two thousand deaths a day!

Studies done by scientists on plants and animals confirmed the harmful effects of rock music. Plants subjected to rock music were stunted during the experiment, and eventually died. When the brain of mice were dissected after exposure to rock music, it was found out that their brains have undergone abnormal structural changes. The neurons in their brains have grown out wildly in all directions without connecting to other neurons, and there was an abnormal amount of messenger RNA, a chemical used by the brain for storing memory. This could be the reason why listeners to rock music are more prone to use illegal drugs and engage in extramarital sex. This is also the reason why listeners to heavy metallic rock music are much more likely to commit suicide.

Rock music destroys the frontal lobe of the brain. The frontal lobe of the brain is the center of wisdom, conscience, and spirituality. A person with damaged frontal lobe becomes more animalistic, antagonistic, and violent, and without any feeling of sympathy or remorse for any cruelty done. He does not know to distinguish between right and wrong.

Rock music produces hypnotic trance in its listeners, and stimulates them to obey and do the thing being repetitively suggested in it. Most of these suggestions are pornographic, sadistic, murderous, and satanic. No wonder listeners to rock music have weird behaviors suggestive of demonic possession.

Rock music is indeed very harmful not only to the mind but to the whole body as well. Plants exposed to rock music withered and died! You could just imagine how dangerous it is. It is even more dangerous than a signal-number-four typhoon! Rock music is very stressful. It stimulates the blood pressure to rise, pulse rate and heart beat to rise, causes chest pains, and may trigger heart attack.

Great Minds Were Vegetarians

Do you know that more great minds were vegetarians?

Some people usually taunt the vegetarians as anemic, sallow, weak and ghastly. They believe vegetables are only for cows, and people must eat flesh meats to have proteins in their diets. Eating vegetables, they say, reduces masculine virility and libido, and they fear that they might not be able to “rise to the occasion”.

These mockers are not aware that more great minds were vegetarians. Among the great minds who were vegetarians were Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch, Plotinus, Diogenes, Epicurus, Porphyry, Immanuel Kant, Voltaire, Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Charles Darwin, Albert Schweitzer,  Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Thomas Alva Edison, Shelley, Emerson, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi,  George Bernard Shaw, Leo Tolstoy, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nikola Tesla, and Norman Walker.

Pythagoras was considered the “Father of Vegetarianism”. He formulated the Pythagorean theorem, besides other mathematical and geometrical findings, and other findings about the movement of the Earth around the Sun. Six hundred  years before Christ, Pythagoras and his adherents practiced strict vegetarianism. Pythagoras believed that man’s full philosophical potential can only be achieved when his body is physically fit and healthy. Long before the word “vegetarian” was coined in the 19th century, people who practiced vegetarianism were called Pythagoreans. Many Greek philosophers, besides Pythagoras were also vegetarians.

Albert Einstein is also a vegetarian. Though it is believed that his playing the violin during his childhood  had greatly improved his intelligence, his being a vegetarian was among the primary factors that helped him to become the greatest scientist of the 21st century. His Theory of Relativity was the greatest discovery of  all times, and has still remained to be a puzzle to many even to his peers until now. Other science greats who are vegetarians are Sir Isaac Newton, Nikola Tesla, and Thomas Alva Edison.

The list of great minds that are vegetarians is long. Most in the list are philosophers, scientists, mathematicians, inventors, musicians, spiritual leaders, presidents and leaders of nations, artists, painters, writers, novelists, actors, actresses, and singers.

Man Was Originally Vegetarian

Man was originally vegetarian. Fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables was man’s original diet given by God,  and flesh meat eating was allowed only after the Flood when there was a total destruction of vegetation on the surface of the earth. When men started eating flesh meats, diseases appeared, and men died prematurely. Please read my previous article “Why Flesh Meat Eating Is Harmful To Health”, and know more about this.

Studies in anatomy showed that man is vegetarian by nature. Man’s digestive system was originally designed for vegetarian diet. His teeth are similar to fruit-eating animals such as monkeys. He does not have pointed canine teeth like those of the carnivorous animals.

Man was originally vegetarian. Like the herbivorous animals, his jaw has three distinct motions: vertical or up and down, lateral or sideways, and forward and backward. Carnivorous animals have only up and down motion of their jaw when masticating their food.

Man was originally vegetarian as his intestines indicated. Like the herbivores, his small intestines are longer and his large intestine is shorter. His digestive tract is similar to animals consuming largely nuts, fruits, and vegetables.

Man was originally vegetarian as the following facts show:

  • Like all vegetarian animals, man perspire through his skin, and not through the mouth as is common in carnivorous animals.
  • As a vegetarian, man drinks by suction, while the carnivorous animals drink by lapping the water with their tongues.
  • Man is provided with an enzyme called ptyalin in his saliva for the proper digestion of starch in his body. Carnivorous animals cannot digest starch.
  • Man’s blood types A, B, and O are similar with the herbivores such as apes.
  • The bile salts found in man is similar to herbivorous animals.

Man was indeed a vegetarian originally as his anatomy shows. It would be for man’s advantage if he returns to his original diet: fruits, grains, and vegetables. If man will continue to consume flesh meats, he will have diseases and afflictions, and his life on this earth will be shortened.

Water Is Good For Health

waterWater is good for health. Our body is about 80 percent water, and all the organs in the body need water. Muscle tissues contain 75 percent water by weight, and all muscle reflexes are not possible without water. Bones are 22 percent water, and the blood is 95 percent water.

Water is very important in the body. . Water is very essential in all body functions. Water in the blood brings the essential nutrients and oxygen to the tissues in the body, and it will fail without water. Even the blinking of the eye requires water.

Water is a universal cleanser. It is not only used in taking a bath, but for maintenance of body temperature  and for the proper elimination of body waste as well.

Water intake can increase physical endurance by as much as 80 percent. Drinking water quenches  our thirst. Water is better than sodas and carbonated drinks. It quenches the thirst more effectively than sweetened drinks. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of clean water everyday to avoid dehydration and constipation.

Water refreshes the entire body during hot weather through perspiration. Millions of  tiny pores on the skin open to ventilate the body through perspiration.

Water can also be used in therapy to relieved lots of body ailments. Applying water on the skin is good for blood circulation. Hot or cold bath is a good tonic. Warm baths open the skin pores for the elimination of wastes from the body. Warm baths are good for soothing  the nerves.

Lack of water in the body affects our health,  and our work performance too. When there is not enough water in the body, the blood thickens, and flows with difficulty. This causes trouble not only to the body organs and tissues but to the heart as well. The performance of athletes are affected by lack of water.

How Is Glucose Energy Converted To ATP

atpWe have been eating three square meals a day for years without bothering to know how our body convert these foods to energy. We all know that the food we eat such as fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetable have stored energy in them. This stored energy is converted into a form recognizable by the body, and it is called ATP or adenosine triphosphate.

When we eat, the food are masticated in the mouth and then digested in the stomach. During digestion, the food is broken down into their simplest form. Carbohydrate is converted into simple sugar called glucose, protein into amino acids, and fats into fatty acids. These converted nutrients are then absorbed by the cells in the walls of the small intestine, and circulated to different parts of the body through the blood. But before these nutrients can be used by the cells as fuel in the body, they have to be converted into ATP or adenosine triphosphate by a series of chemical reactions through cellular respiration. It is a complex process where energy in the form of ATP is released from the food molecules. Besides ATP, carbon dioxide and water are also produced during the process. There are many cell respiration processes in the formation of ATP. Glycolysis is a process where glucose is broken down into two pyruvic acid generating two ATP’s in the process. This process takes place in the cytoplasm of the cell,  and this involves a series of chemical reactions catalyzed by different enzymes. The two molecules of pyruvic acid leave the cytoplasm and enter the mitochondria where other chemical processes take place to produce more ATPs.

There are two pathways in which adenosine triphosphate can be generated from pyruvic acid: aerobic, and anaerobic pathways. As the name suggests, aerobic respiration involves the use of oxygen, while anaerobic does not. During aerobic respiration, oxygen is consumed,  and large number of ATPs is generated in addition to carbon dioxide and water as  by-products. Mitochondria is called the powerhouse of the cell because of this.

There are two phases in aerobic respiration: Krebs’ cycle (named after the British biochemist Sir Hans Adolf Krebs), and electron transport chain. Krebs’ cycle is also known as citric acid cycle.

Before the pyruvic acid enters the Krebs’ cycle, it must first be converted into acetyl -CoA. Krebs’ cycle or citric acid cycle refers to a series of enzyme-catalyzed reactions that break down acetyl-CoA completely into carbon dioxide and water. Exhalation is the body’s way of getting rid of carbon dioxide produced in Krebs’ cycle. This process occurs in the inner matrix of mitochondria. For every acetyl-Coa that enters a Krebs’ cycle, one ATP is generated plus three molecules of NADH (Nicotinamide Adenine dinucleotide),  and one molecule of FADH2 (Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide). These are electron carrier molecules where more ATPs are generated through electron transport chain.

Electron transport chain or oxidative phosphorylation is a series of oxidation processes where hydrogen electrons carried by NADH and FADH2 are transferred to electron acceptors (coenzyme Q and cytochromes b, c and a. During electron transfer, ATPs are released in addition to water as by-product. A total of three ATPs are produced for every molecule of NADH entering the electron transport chain, and two ATPs for every molecule of FADH2. A total of thirty-six ATPs are generated for every molecule of glucose.

Is Saturday The Seventh Day?

calendarIs Saturday the seventh day? What are the evidences to prove it?

This is a question that has not been fully settled up to now. Not that there is no r true answer to this question, but because people refused to accept the facts due to biased opinion, or religious bigotry.

Let us set aside the so many verses in the Bible that prove the fact that Saturday is the seventh day. Not all people believe in the Bible, and so we should take the proofs from outside it.

Our first source is history. This is the chronicle of important events that occured in the past. One of that event was the changing of the calendar from Julian to Gregorian. It was done in October 5, 1582 of the Julian calendar. On March 11 of that year, the vernal equinox appeared, and it was 10 days ahead of the actual vernal equinox which usually falls on March 21. The vernal equinox is very important to the whole Christian world – it is the reckoning point in determining the Easter Sunday and the Holy Week in general. Therefore, the pope, Gregory XIII issued a bull to correct the anomaly. An Italian scientist worked out a solution, and finally in October 5, 1582, which was a Friday, the correction of the Julian calendar was made by adding 10 days to it, thus October 5, 1582 became October 15, 1582, and that day started our present day calendar, the Gregorian calendar. The change did not alter in any way the sequence of the days in a week, nor changed the names of the days. It was purely an addition of ten days to the Julian calendar to correct the error and to  synchronize with the actual solar year. So, the Friday of October 5, 1582, was the same Friday of October 15, 1582. It was just a renaming of date, and not of day.

The Julian calendar, named after its proponent started to be used in 44 B.C. From then on up to the time of Christ until October 5, 1582, the seventh day which was the weekly sabbath observed by the Jews was the same and unaltered, and it has remained the same up to this day.

Other irrefutable proofs come from astonomical observatories around the world. Astronomers can pinpoint with precise accuracy important events or days in history by looking at the position of the stars and the galaxies recorded in observatories. And it jibes with the fact in history that the seventh day is really  Saturday and cannot be another day of the week.

Another proof that I will present is quite incredible. This has something to do with the latest discovery in chronobiology of a cycle that governs the life of all plants and animals, including human beings. This is the circaseptan cycleor 7-day cycle that happens every seven days or half of it. Its is indeed very incredible that blood pressure, heart beat, and other processes in the body follow a cycle of 7 days. These bilological parameters either peak or wean according to this cycle. And it was found out that most of the human processes become well stabilized or well  rested during the seventh day. Is it a mere coincidence that these biological parameters such as heart beat, and blood pressure should stabilize and synchronize with this  7-day cycle?

Th above discovery could be a proof that we always  suffer the consequence of sin. Trasgressing the fourth commandment to keep the sabbath day holy will indeed tell upon our health. When we work during the sabbath, and try to de-synchronize ourselves with the 7-day cycle, we create heath problems for ourselves and suffer the consequence of sin. And this cycle is unalterable – it is permanent and fix throughout the whole universe. All heavenly bodies follow various cycles that are ultimately founded upon the 7-day cycle.

The Orion Constellation

The Orion constellation is well known to most stargazers. It is composed of bright stars  such as Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Rigel, Saiph, Alnitak, Alnilam, Mintaka, Meissa, Theta1 and Theta 2 Orionis, the Trapezium cluster, Orion nebula, and Hatsya.

Rigel,  the left foot of Orion, is the brightest star in this constellation. It is 773 light years away, and has a mass of 17 solar masses. Betelgeuse, the right shoulder of Orion, is the second brightest in the constellation, and is 600 light years away from our solar system. Bellatrix is the left shoulder of Orion, and  is 240 light years away. Saiph, the right foot of Orion is720 light years away.

Its three bright stars, commonly known as the “Belt of Orion”, are visible to the naked eyes. These are the Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. These stars are also known as “the Three Kings”, or “The Three Sisters”. Alnitak is the easternmost star in the belt. It is 800 light years away. Alnilam is the center of the belt. It is 1300 light years away. Mintaka is the westernmost star in the belt, and  is 900 light years away.

Below the belt is the “Sword of Orion”. Visible to the naked eyes are the stars  Theta 1 and Theta 2 Orionis, the Trapezium cluster, the Orion nebula, and Hatsya. The brightest star in the sword visible to the nake eye, though 1300 light years away  is Hatsya, which is located at the tip of the sword.

The Trapezium cluster is a group of very bright stars 1600 light years away. It was originally composed of stars A, B, C, and D. But later discoveries increased the number to eight. Stars A, C, and D were discovered by Galileo in February 4, 1617, and the fourth component, the star B was discovered later. The rest were discovered in 1888. Star C is the brightest in the Trapezium.

The Orion Nebula is the hazy area visible to the naked eye. It is 1270 light years away, 20 light years in diameter, and 24 light years across. It is composed of more than 2,ooo stars.

At the tip of the sword, below the Orion Nebula is Hatsya. It is the brightest among the sword stars  though 1300 light years away.

Just below Alnitak is the Horsehead Nebula, and the Flame Nebula adjacent to it. The Horsehead Nebula  and the Burning Bush or Flaming Tree Nebula are both  1500 light years away.

Constellation Orion is very significant to most people not only because of its being the most beautiful constellation in the night sky that is visible to the naked eye, but because of the many myths and legends about it. It is believed not only by Christians, but by atheist as well that Orion is the “Gateway to Heaven”. It is mentioned three times in the Bible, and most Seventh-day Adventists believe that the mighty voice of God the Father will come from Orion to proclaim the day and hour of the much-awaited second coming coming of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. From an “open space” in Orion, the New Jerusalem will pass through and descend to this planet Earth, after the millennial reign of the saints in heaven.

Is The Soul Immortal?

Is the soul really immortal? Why most people believe that the soul is immortal?

The soul is not immortal. There is only one immortal being in this whole universe, and that is God.

The doctrine of the immortality of the soul is not based on the Bible. There is no single verse in the whole Bible to support it. This man-made doctrine supports the doctrine of spiritism. Many people believe that the soul of the dead still comes back to converse with their loved ones and relatives. They believe that souls are alive, and they talk to them and offer them foods during All Souls Day.

When Adam and Eve fell in sin, God, in his mercy to man, immediately sent powerful angels to secure the tree of life that man may not partake of the fruit of the tree of life and remain a sinner forever and suffer its consequence without end. So a powerful angel with a flaming sword guarded the tree of life that man may be saved from suffering this consequence eternally.

Man is a living soul. This soul that makes man alive is the breath of God that enlivens a body created from dust. When this body dies, the soul or breath returns to its rightful owner, God, and the body returns to dust. A dead man does not go to heaven or hell – he decays in the tomb. He “sleeps”, and is unconscious of everything that is happening under the sun. He does not ascend to heaven nor descend to the pit of hell. For why should Christ come again to judge the living and the dead if these dead men are already in heaven or hell? None has gone up to heaven except Enoch, Elijah, Moses, and those who were resurrected together with Christ in Jerusalem. All others are still in their tombs. So the doctrine of the immortality of the soul is a doctrine of spiritism. It is a doctrine of the devil. Fallen angels mimic the appearances and voices of our dead loved ones to deceive us that the soul is really immortal, and are able to converse with us anytime they want to. We should be careful conversing with them – these devils might easily posses us.

Do not be deceived. Be vigilant, because our enemy the devil, as a roaring lion is walking around, seeking whom he may devour. The great deceiver and his cohorts are all around us all the time trying to pull us to hell.

I used to be ignorant of this fact. Whenever somebody dies in our neighborhood, I was terribly afraid that their soul or ghost will show up at night. I had fear of corps, coffin, and candles. It was only lately that I had been freed from this great lie, and I laughed at myself behaving like an idiot on those days.

Dead men are dead. They no longer know whatever thing is done under the sun. The bouquet we buy – they cannot see anymore nor appreciate its beauty. No matter how fragrant, they cannot smell it anymore. A truckload of beautiful fragrant flowers cannot bring them joy and happiness anymore – they are dead and their senses are dead with them. These flowers should have been given when they were still alive, and could have given them inspiration to live and prolong their lives. The tender loving care we showed to the dead should have been better done when they needed our help the most in their time of sadness and sufferings. The money we spent on flowers, candles, and expensive coffins could have been spent to buy medicines, food, shelter and all the basic need of our loved ones. The time we spent on sleepless vigils could have been usefully spent on them when they were still alive in their sick bed, at home when they needed our quality time to converse with them and vent their pent up feelings and problems that eventually cause their demise. It could have been spent with the kids in the park – to breath the refreshing and invigorating air from the trees, and appreciate the beauty of Nature that strengthens the body and ennobles the mind to appreciate life and live it to the full with zest.

This is our moral lesson: We must love our wife, our husband, our children, our parents, our in-laws, our brothers and sisters, our friends, our neighbors, and all our loved ones, and even our enemies . Let us show them our care and affection while they are still alive with us. Let us love them in deed and not in words. For in death, there is no more consciousness to appreciate all things that are being done under the sun. Flowers, candles, vigils, and even an ocean of tears are all useless when given for the dead.

Health Benefits Of Sunlight

sun2Sunlight has many health benefits for man. It is used in the photosynthesis of plants that is very important for life on this planet Earth. Without sunlight, the the Earth will be lifeless, dark and void.

With the aid of sunlight, our body produces vitamin D for strong bones, teeth, and nails. As the sunlight strikes our skin,  substances called ergosterols in oil glands beneath our skin are irradiated and transformed by ultraviolet light into viosterol,  and is then converted into ergocalciferol, which is a form of Vitamin D.

Sunlight is good for hypertensive people; it lowers high blood pressure. It has beneficial effects for the heart. Exercising under the  sun strengthens the heart, and allows it to rest more as it pumps more blood which results to a lower pulse rate. Sunlight alone can lower blood pressure by 8%, and 15% when combined with physical  exercise.

Sunlight is good for people with diabetes. It lowers excessively high levels of sugar in the body. Sunlight causes the stored sugar or glycogen in the muscles and liver to be increased throughout the body ,thus lowering the blood sugar.

Sunlight is good in preventing heart attacks and other cardiovascular diseases. It decreases the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterols in the body. This is done when ergosterols are converted by ultraviolet light to viosterols, and finally to ergocalciferols as vitamin D. Ergosterols are component of fungal cell membranes that serve the same function as cholesterols in animal cells. When much of these ergosterols or cholesterols are converted by sunlight into vitamin D,  cholesterols from the body are sent to replace them, thus lowering the cholesterol level in the blood.  An average of 13% reduction in blood cholesterol can be achieved after two hours exposure to sunlight.

Sunlight is also good in preventing the harmful effects of stress. Sunlight calms the nerves, and increases insulin secretion by the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. Patients suffering from gastric and duodenal ulcers, thought to be caused by stress, have been found to improve under the beneficial effects of sunlight.

Sunlight can destroy harmful bacteria, and can be used in treating bacterial infections. Together with fresh air, it is an effective treatment for tuberculosis. Tuberculosis of the lung, bone, and skin are greatly helped by exposure to sunlight. Streptococcal and fungal infections and other infectious diseases such as flu, common cold, and even the dangerous spinal meningitis are reduced by the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects of  sunlight.

Sunlight is good in water purification as is manifest in many bottled purified water stores and stations. In this water purification system, the water is exposed to ultraviolet rays to kill harmful bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens. Sunlight is also an effective killer of the  dangerous water-born bacteria in cholera, typhoid, bacillary dysentery, and hepatitis.

Sunlight can also be used to treat skin diseases such as psoriasis and acne. It keeps psoriasis in control, and sterilizes acne. Sunlight does not only kills bacteria on the skin, but it converts natural oils on skin into bactericidal agents.

Sunlight strengthens the immune system. When exposed to sunlight, the body produces more white cells, the fighter cells that ward off infections and other diseases. Sunlight increases the number of T-lympocytes, the most powerful germ killer in the body. Lympocytes produce more antibodies, such as the gamma globulins when the body is exposed to sunlight. Neutrophils, the common white blood cells are stimulated to chew up twice as much harmful bacteria after sunlight exposure.

Sunlight is beneficial to people with gout. Ultraviolet rays increases the excretion of uric acid from the body. Sunlight is also good in the treatment of arthritis.

Sunlight helps destroy most of the toxic chemicals that we ingest from contaminated water, and from polluted air, such as cobalt, mercury, lead, benzene, fluoride, manganese, cadmium,  and pesticides. Ultraviolet rays increase the production of enzymes in the body which eliminate these toxic chemicals by metabolizing them.

Sunlight cleanses our environment: the air, lakes, rivers, mountains, the oceans, and other bodies of water.  Creeks and canals will stink without sunlight. Marine lives will not thrive, and plants will not bear fruits without sunlight.

Sunlight cleanses our homes and surroundings too. It kills air-borne bacteria and fungi to ward off diseases.
