Drink More Liquid During Physical Exercise

Drink more liquid during physical exercise. It replenishes lost body fluid, and prevents dehydration.

Perspiring during physical exercise is good. It opens up the pores on our skin to cool our body, and flushes out wastes and other toxins from the body.

Brisk walking is a good exercise. It makes our blood to circulate properly to all parts of our body. Jogging and running are better exercises to stimulate more perspiration. These are good in shedding extra body fats, and are also effective in lowering high cholesterol level in the body.

Be sure to drink more liquid when doing strenuous physical exercise. A sufficient fluid intake is very important to avoid dehydration. Some performance and repair drinks such as E2 Hydro are good for the body. They not only replenish the lost body fluid during perspiration, but they also nourish and repair the body.

Drinking bottled mineral water is good too, but most of them are lacking in vitamins and minerals. Distilled water not only lacks essential nutrients for the body, but they become highly acidic when exposed to the air.

So, when you exercise, be sure to drink more water to replace lost body fluid during perspiration. Better still, take energy drinks that are loaded with more vitamins and minerals. They not only quench your thirst, but they also repair your muscles to prevent soreness after workouts, and they nourish the whole body too.

Don’t forget to bring lots of water and energy drinks when doing your workouts in the gym. And you need more of them when you’re jogging or running in the open air under the sun.

Physical exercise is good for our health, especially when done properly. When we overdo it, we get cramps and other muscle pains. When we sweat a lot, and don’t take enough fluid, we become dehydrated, and these defeat the benefits of physical exercise. So take energy drink during workouts to stay fit and healthy.

How To Prevent Atherosclerosis

atheroAtherosclerosis is an “autoimmune”  disease that can be prevented or minimized. It is a vascular disease caused as a result of the natural reaction of the body’s  defense mechanism to repair and protect an inflammation in the arterial wall.

The formation of atherosclerosis starts at childhood. It is a misconception that only the middle aged and the adults are susceptible to atherosclerosis. Autopsies of young children and even of  infants had shown clogged arteries.

Atherosclerosis is asymptotic most of the time. Ninety percent of the time, its symptoms are not visible, until the very onslaught of strokes or heart attacks.

How does atherosclerosis develop in the arteries?

Atherosclerosis develops from the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein molecules (LDL)  by free radicals, particularly oxygen free radicals. This oxidized LDL  damages the arterial inner wall, and a series of reactions are activated by the body’s defense mechanism to repair this damage.   Initially, this damage or lesion is visible as the thickening of the inner wall (intima) of the artery with the presence of fatty streaks or plaques.

The body’s immune system sends specialized white blood cells, macrophages and T-lympocytes to absorb the oxidized-LDL and to repair the damage to the artery wall caused by oxidized LDL. But these white blood cells are not able to process these oxidized-LDL, and this  gradually  grow and then ruptures, depositing a greater amount of oxidized cholesterol in the artery wall. This triggers the immune system to send more white blood cells, and the cycle continues. The artery becomes inflamed, and the cholesterol plaques cause the muscle cells to enlarge and form a hard cover over the damaged area. This hard cover  causes a narrowing of the artery which reduces the blood flow and increases blood pressure. Clogged arteries can lead to angina pectoris, mycardial infarction, strokes, heart attacks, and other cardiovascular diseases.

What must be done to prevent or minimize atherosclerosis?

The best way to prevent or minimize atherosclerosis is to avoid all fatty foods. All junk foods are cooked or processed with fats, and most of these fats come from hydrogenated cooking oils that are converted into trans fatty acid when heated. Trans fatty acids are very harmful to the body,  and it causes cancer.

A vegetarian diet can help a lot. Fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables have vitamins and minerals that reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL), a bad cholesterol, and increases the high-density lipoprotein (HDL), a good cholesterol. Good examples of these are garlic, onions, avocados, cayenne, gingko biloba, gotu kola, and soy beans. They not only provide the essential nutrients for a healthy body, but they are also known to dissolve excess cholesterols in the body.

A regular physical exercise is also very important in preventing atherosclerosis. Brisk walking can lower bad cholesterol level in the body, and raises the good cholesterol too. Sports, such as tennis, basketball, and swimming are also good forms of exercises.

And the best prevention of all is to have a positive mental attitude  in life.  Studies showed that trauma and stress are the primary precursors of atherosclerosis. So live life happily and trust in God.

Health Benefits Of Exercise

exercise11Physical exercise is very important for a healthy body. To stay healthy and fit, we need to exercise regularly.

Most people believe that exercise and work are the same. They believe that if they exert effort, flex their muscles during work, it is already an exercise. But exercise and work are not the same thing. Although both expend energy, exercise has an element of pleasure. When you work,  you become tired, the same as when you exercise. But in exercise, there is a sense of pleasure and leisure, and this what makes exercise more beneficial than work. It is this sense of pleasure that adds to the benefits of a physical exercise.

Exercise is very important to everybody. Moderate and vigorous exercises can  reduce bad cholesterol levels in the body to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Exercise promotes good blood circulation, and is therefore very beneficial for all the organs of the body. It helps in the removal of wastes and toxins in the body through perspiration.

A good exercise need not be strenuous. Brisk walking for 30 minutes three to four times a week can give the body a rejuvenation equivalent to ten years. Exercise improves the tones of the muscles, and makes them stronger and firm. It increases the efficiency of the heart to pump more blood to all parts of the body. Exercise also improves digestion, and normalizes bowel movement.

Exercise is good for the lung, allowing it to process more air with less effort, and increases oxygen consumption by body cells. It enables a cheerful quality to the mind,  and strengthens the will. Exercise promotes a restful sleep at night, a good mind to think better, and restores energy and vitality to perform more efficiently during the day.

Exercise increases the pumping efficiency of the heart. It can prevent heart attacks, and other diseases, especially in the elderly when done consistently in moderation.

Other health benefits of exercise are:

  • strengthens the involuntary muscles, such as those of the stomach and intestinal canal
  • relieves painful menstruation
  • helps children to grow
  • improves the nervous system
  • provides more oxygen to the body, and improves its utilization by all tissues in the body
  • speeds up  the recovery of surgical, maternal and other patients
  • prevents phlebitis, kidney stones, embolism, clots, and loss of calcium from bed patients
  • reduces blood pressure slightly
  • prevents abnormal or accelerated clotting of the blood in coronary, cerebral, and other arteries and veins
  • promotes rejuvenation and longevity

Sunday Activities

It is a beautiful Sunday morning. The sky is cloudless and clear.  The sun shines bright against the blue sky, and the warmth of the sun is just fine.

As usual, people go outdoor for a walk. As early as 5 o’clock in the morning, most of our neighbors go to the plaza at the academy to exercise. It is a day for physical exercise after the sabbath day, and a day to meet and chat with church members,  friends, and acquaintances.

The mothers and their young children play happily at the swings and the seesaws. The older children brachiate at the monkey bars. After the swing and the seesaw, the mothers and their young children walk around the oval for five up to ten rounds.  Some walk briskly, and  the others walk leisurely, and feel the cool, invigorating fresh air from the surrounding trees. When tired, they sat at benches under the trees before resuming their exercises again.

Some of the ladies and women have their aerobic exercises in the gymnasium. A lady from the hospital leads them in their exercises. Fat and obese people, including men are included.

Some are playing basketball at the gymnasium too, and still others are playing tennis at the courts. The men are busy playing with their office colleagues and friends. Most players are workers of the union,  and elders and officers of the church. A membership fee and a monthly due is required to be able to play tennis at the court.

After some hours of mild exercises, the mothers and their children go home to start their daily chores, while the fathers remain to play tennis. Sometimes, they play tennis throughout the day. There are three tennis courts only, so most players have to wait for their turn to play.

At home, the children help their mothers prepare their breakfast. After breakfast, the children study their lessons, while their mothers wash the clothes and uniforms of their children for school.

Upon completion of household chores, the mothers or the fathers go around the community or to the city to sell books. These are literature evangelists that sell medical  books, health books, and spiritual books. Some of our neighbors are literature evangelists. We bought good medical and health books from them, and spiritual books too. These books are good guides to a healthy disease-free living. The spiritual books are good for the children’s development of good moral characters and the acquisition of good moral values that are so needful in a decadent society such as ours today.

Don’t forget about your wife and partner in life too, give her time and show your appreciation. Las Vegas Show Tickets for the two of you in a romantic Sunday night, a time together just enjoying each others company while enjoying great music is just a simple way to say, you mean so much to me and I love spending time with you.
