The Advantages of A Vegetarian Diet

People spend lots of money to maintain their health. Millions are paid in hospital bills, doctor’s fees, laboratory fees, medicines, and in regular medical checkup. Almost all of man’s striving and endeavors are for his health, happiness, and well being.

But money cannot buy health. Rich people are not exempt from diseases, and even the richest die of terminal cancers which their money has no power to reverse. It is for man’s good to finally come into realization of how futile and worthless wealth can be in a life bereft of good health, and therefore very mandatory that he strives to acquire good health.

Good nutrition is one among the eight secrets of good health. Food is the most basic need of man to live. But it is not only the eating and gulping of food you like – it must be nutritionally balanced to be truly beneficial for the body.

A nutritionally balanced diet must include carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals. Rich sources of these nutrients are fruits, nuts, grains, and vegetables.

Most people, especially the children prefer meat than vegetables. They believe that proteins can only be obtained from meats, fish, and other animal products. But this is not true. On the contrary, plants, seeds, grains and vegetables are more abundant sources of proteins. Proteins from meats are heavy proteins and are hard to digest. Plant-based proteins are light proteins and are easily digested and assimilated by the body.

Fruits, nuts, grains, and vegetables have all the nutrients needed for excellent health. True, no plant or herbs can produce vitamin B12 – a very essential vitamin in the formation and production of the red blood cells. But the human body can produce its own vitamin B12 when it has enough supply of cobalt which is available in plants or herbs such as Nova Scotia dulse, and Norwegian kelp (types of seaweeds). Vitamin B12 or cobalamin is also partially found in food rich in vitamin B1 or thiamine such as nuts, seeds, beans, brown rice, whole-grain cereals, oats, and leafy vegetables.

Flesh meats of animals, on the other hand, are very harmful to health. Meats of diseased animals are carriers of communicable diseases which are easily transferred to human beings. Most animals today are feed with growth hormones, feed additives, and their meats are loaded with preservatives, food colors, and other toxic chemicals that are dangerous to the body. Healthy animals are butchered in dirty slaughter houses, and bacteria and other pathogens thrive on these meats, and are already putrefying and decayed before it reach the consumers. Eating of flesh meats had long been suspected as the cause of tumors and cancers. Only in this modern time have it been verified and confirmed by medical doctors as true.

Think twice before eating meat. Where do people get these dreadful diseases: cancers, tumors, mad-cow disease, foot-and-mouth disease, bird’s flu, and the latest scare – the Ebola Reston virus?

Why Flesh Meat Eating Is Harmful To Health

meatFlesh meat eating is harmful to health. It is the main cause of cancers, tumors, heart diseases, heart attack, strokes,  and other diseases.

In the beginning, God gave man his original diet: fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables. Man was originally designed as a herbivore. As such, the structure of his mouth, teeth, jaw, and intestines, are distinctly very different from carnivores. He has small mouth opening, and he has sharp cutting incisors with flat or nodular surfaced molars for crushing and grinding food. His jaw has  three distinct motions – up and down; sideways; forward or backward, but in a limited degree. Also man’s large intrestines runs through the abdominal cavity like an inverted U, and consists of ascending, transverse,  and descending colons.

After the Flood, plants and all the vegetation were all totally destroyed, and man was allowed to eat the flesh meats of clean animals which were brought in the Ark. From then on, man started to eat flesh meats, and all forms of diseases followed. His life span became shorter –  from over a hundred years to 70 years old.

During those ancient days, the animals were clean, and grazed on clean grasses, as vegetation started to grow back. Nowaday, animals are injected with growth hormones that are harmful to the body. And their feeds are mixed with dried pulverized carcases, additives, and other toxic chemicals. These animals are butchered in dirty slaughter houses – where animal fecal wastes mingle with their flesh meats. Also some of these animals are sick with communicable diseases that are transferred to the consumers, such as flu, pneumonia, tuberculosis, mad cow disease, foot and mouth disease, bird’s flu, Ebola Reston virus, and others.  Even the flesh meats of healthy animals, besides the chemicals from feed, and other additives, are flooded with insulin which they secrete in reaction to fear when butchered.

In the 17th century, Mrs. Ellen G. White, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote a warning concerning flesh meat eating. She predicted that flesh meat eating will be the cause of tumors, and cancer. It is only now in the 21st century that doctors confirmed her prediction as true.

Flesh meats contain a stress hormone called 17-hydroxycorticosteroid which stimulates the pituitary gland, and cause man to be more animalistic, and less rational. During cooking, some chemical substances are produced in meats, such as benzopyrene, and methylcholanthrene. Benzopyrene can cause stomach tumors, and leukemia. It is so toxic that in a one kilo of charcoal-broiled steak, there is as much benzopyrene as in 600 cigarettes. Methylcholanthrene is a cacinogenic  sustance formed when the fat of meats are superheated.

Besides, the toxic chemical substances in meats, there is also greater risk of having heart diseases, heart attacks,  strokes, and cardiovascular diseases that are closely related with flesh meat eating. Animal flesh meats are high in cholesterol that clogs the vein and arteries resulting to heart attacks and strokes.

Why Pork Is Forbidden By God

Pork is forbidden by God as food. God said, in Leviticus 11:7, 8, that pig or swine is not clean, and of its flesh man should not eat nor touch its carcass.

Some people have not known that pork is forbidden by God. Some were shown the Bible verses in Leviticus, but still persist in eating pork. They try to rationalize, in their ignorance of words, that swine is not pig, and vice versa.

The King James Version and other versions of the Holy Bible use the word “swine”, whereas, the New International Version, and other modern versions of the Holy Bible use the word “pig”. Dictionaries can prove it that swine and pig are words of the same meaning, and can be used interchangeably to describe the same animal.

Other people have read Leviticus 11 verses 7 and 8, but still refuse to obey God. They say that the prohibition was given in the Old Testament, and is no longer binding in our time. They cite the last part of Mark 7: 19, and Acts 10:13 as proofs that pork can now be eaten as food.

What is spoken of in Mark chapter 7, and what is the truth about the last part of verse 19? Was it about flesh meat eating, or was it eating without washing the hands? Granted that the topic was flesh meat eating, it is very obvious that what they eat was not pork nor any unclean food. The disciples who eat without washing their hands were Jews, and Jews abhor unclean food.

The last part of Mark 7 verse 19 is not found in the original text. It is not found in the King James Version. Modern versions included it, but only enclosed in a parenthesis to show that it was only added and was not a part of the original text.

Acts 10 verse 13 narrates of a voice telling Peter to kill and eat the four-footed beasts which he saw inside a net being let down from heaven during a trance. As a Jew, Peter vehemently refused, arguing that he had never eaten any impure or unclean food. This happened three times, until the net was taken back to heaven.

The vision which Peter saw in a trance is symbolical. It is not meant to be literal. We cannot doubt this fact, for Peter himself explained it in verses 34 and 35, saying, after understanding and realizing the meaning of the vision, that God does not show favoritism, but accepts men from every nation that fear him and do what is right.

So the command in Acts 10:13 was not literally to kill and eat unclean four–footed beasts, but to accept the Gentiles, and preach the good news to them that God now accepts them through the redeeming blood of our Lord Jesus Christ that was shed on the Cross of Calvary.

Why is pork forbidden by God? Is it bad for our health and harmful to our body?

The only reason that God gives in the prohibition of eating pork was that it is unclean. Why is it unclean? Because the pig, God said, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for us.

If you do not believe God that swine or pig is not clean, consider how pig wallows in dirty stinking mud of wastes and feces, and how it eats its own vomit. Consider the pandemic swine flu that is currently happening in Mexico, the USA, Canada, Hongkong, and other parts of  the world. There is fear in the hearts of many that this pandemic outbreak, if not contained, may take the lives of millions such as happened in the “Spanish” flu pandemic in 1918 that took 50 million lives.

It is true that swine flu is airborne, and pork eating cannot transmit it to human beings because the swine flu virus is killed during cooking. But swine flu is not the only danger from eating pork. Pork have trichina worms that cause trichinosis, and a fatal viral disease called foot-and-mouth disease that hit epidemic outbreak in the USA, Taiwan, United Kingdom, China, and other countries of the world in the past.

Pork is forbidden by God because it is not clean as food. It does not only have parasites,  and viruses that can be transmitted to human beings, but pork is also high in saturated fats that can cause atherosclerosis, strokes, and heart attacks.
