Reasons Why We Should Avoid GMO

There are many reasons why we should avoid GMO. Many studies showed that it is toxic, carcinogenic and fatal. It is very dangerous to health and must be avoided and discarded for good.

What is GMO?

GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. It is an organism in which its genetic material or DNA has been altered through genetic engineering techniques generally known as recombitant DNA technology. Genetic modification is done by inserting trans-genes from humans, animals, or bacteria into target species or host such as plants and other animals.

There are 3 methods used in recombitant DNA technology: the plasmid method, the vector method, and the biolistic method. Plasmid method was used in the creation of the first recombitant bacteria in 1973, the existing bacterium E. coli expressing a Salmonella gene. Biolistic method uses a gene gun to insert DNA genes to plant or animals. This is the method used when adding pesticide resistance to plants. This is the most controversial method because it is used in making genetically modified crops for food.

GMO can cause many serious health problems to humans. The following are the health risks of genetically modified crops:

  • GM food supplement is fatal
  • GM crops cause allergies, and other ailments
  • The pollen-sterilizing barnes in GM crops can cause kidney damage
  • Disease-resistant GM crops can promote human viruses and other diseases
  • High lysine in GM corn contains more toxins and can retard growth, and cooking it creates more disease-promoting toxins
  • Trans-genes can be transferred to human gut bacteria, and turn it into living gut pesticide factory
  • Herbicide-tolerant GM crops have more herbicide residues and can produce herbicides in the intestine to act as endocrine disruptors
  • Disease-resistant GM crops develop new plant viruses, and bring more health risks to humans
  • Milk from rBGH (recombitant bovine growth hormone) can increase the risk of cancer and other diseases, and increases the rate of twin births
  • GM food can create antibiotic-resistant diseases
  • A promoter can be transferred into the human DNA and accidentally switch on harmful genes that may produce toxins, allergens and carcinogens, and create genetic instability and mutations
  • Genetic modification activates mobile DNA called transposons which can create cell mutations
  • GM proteins can be misfolded and may result to prion protein disease
  • Pregnant women eating GM food can endanger her offspring

GMO is toxic and dangerous to animals too. Tests done on animals fed with GM food confirmed the fact that GM food are indeed toxic, carcinogenic, and fatal. The following are some of the many documented health risks on cattle, fowls, rats and mice that were fed with GMO:

  • Rats fed with GM potatoes and tomatoes developed bleeding stomachs and died
  • Rats fed with Bt (bacillus thuringiensis) corn and Bt potatoes had intestinal damages and multiple health problems
  • Cows fed with Bt corn died mysteriously
  • Sheeps died after grazing in Bt cotton fields
  • Rabbits fed with Roundup Ready soy had altered cell metabolism
  • Chickens fed with Liberty Link corn died
  • Mice fed with Roundup Ready soy had pancreas problems, liver cell problems, and changes in testicular cells
  • Cows and pigs fed with GM corn became sterile

The many health risks enumerated above are more than enough reasons to convince us that GMOs are indeed very dangerous to our health. We must avoid it if we want to be healthy and fit.

Flesh Meat Eating Is Dangerous To Health

Flesh meat eating is dangerous to health. It brings a host of diseases that have been the cause of death of so many people.

Flesh meats of infected animals are carriers of diseases. Tuberculosis, pneumonia, flu, tumors, cancer, and other diseases are transmitted to humans through flesh meat eating. Flesh meat eating increases the incidence of catching diseases tenfold.

One type of disease that is transmitted to humans through flesh meat eating is the dreadful prion protein disease. It is incurable and takes its victim’s life within months.

Prion protein disease in animals is caused by feeds that are contaminated with dead animals. Feeds that are given to cattle and fowls are mixed with powdered carcasses of sheep, deer, dogs, cows, and other animals. This is the cause of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) or mad cow disease that started the transmission of prion diseases to humans, cattle, fowls and other animals.

This prion disease has been transmitted to humans through consumption of beef from cows infected with BSE. This prion disease in man is called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). Besides BSE and CJD, there are many more prion diseases that have already been identified such as fatal familial insomnia (FFI), Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker Syndrome (GSS), kuru,  chronic wasting disease (CWD), scrapie,  variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD), and Alpers’ Syndrome in infants.

Even eating flesh meats from healthy animals are no longer safe. Besides the feeds  mixed with carcasses of animals, fowls are injected with chemicals to increase their weights, and cows are injected with recombitant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) to increase milk production.

Recombitant bovine growth hormone is the synthetic form of bovine growth hormone or somatotropin that is normally produced in the pituitary glands of cattle. It is produced in laboratories through recombitant DNA technology commonly known as genetic engineering or genetic modification used to produce Genetically Modified Organism (GMO).

This genetically modified bovine growth hormone is injected to cows to prevent the death of mammary cells in order to continuously produce milk. But cows injected with this synthetic growth hormone develop mastitis, and the bacteria that are resistant to the antibiotics used to treat this painful udder infection are carried to humans through beef, milk and other dairy product consumption.

It was also found that milk from cows treated with recombitant bovine growth hormone have high levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), a hormone considered to be a high risk factor for breast, colon, lung, prostate, and other cancers. IGF-1 also increases fraternal twin births.

Flesh meat eating is dangerous to health. Flesh meat contains a stress hormone called 17-hydroxycorticosteroid that blocks neurotransmitters to the brain. A carcinogenic substance called methylcholantrene is also produced when the fat in meat is superheated during cooking or broiling. Benzopyrene is produced during broiling of meat, and this causes stomach tumors and leukemia.

Flesh meat eating is dangerous to health. Besides the mad cow disease and other incurable prion diseases, the GMO recombitant bovine growth hormone, the IGF-1 that causes lot of cancers, and other toxic and carcinogenic substances in flesh meats, it also contains preservatives, feed additives and other toxic chemicals that are detrimental to our health.
